Station Maps for the Occultation by (27666) 1978 VU6 at Friday, 2009 November 27 (~ 21:01 UT)
WEST and EAST
BRIGHT STAR BUT VERY SHORT DURATION.
VIDEO OBSERVATION NEEDED!
V-Magnitude of target star HIP 20789 (72 Tau) : 5.5 mag
Spectral type B5
Johnson B-V Colour Index: – 0.1
UCAC instrumental “pseudo-R” fit-model magnitude: 5.7 mag (data from UCAC3)
The max duration is expected to be 0.5 sec with a max drop of 11.1 mag.
The event will take place at an altitude of 42 deg and at azimuth 95 deg. The sun will be at an altitude of -43 deg. (At predicted centre line for longitude E 10 deg)
There is a 1 sigma uncertainty interval of ± 20.09 path widths.
The probabilities to see a positive event:
Centre line: ~ 2 %
Path limits: ~ 2 %
1 sigma lines: ~ 1 %
(Calculation according to Raymond Dusser, E.A.O.N. Circular #10)
PLEASE REMEMBER: Predictions are sometimes wrong. Please observe even with a small probability.
