Binary Jupiter Trojan!
Target of NASA’s Lucy mission!
Long max. duration events: 33 s (Patroclus) and 29 s (Menoetius)
The map shows the latest prediction by Brain Keeney (SwRI) for both components. Path of (617) Patroclus is coloured pink, while Menoetius is yellow. The individual lines inside the paths are 15 kilometres apart. The vertical lines show the elevation of the Trojan above the horizon. The line crossing Poland marks where the binary will be 30 degrees above the horizon at the time of occultation. On the other lines to the east the target will by 5 degrees lower, respectively.
